Current Airline Deals - Flights and Vacations

With the rapidly approaching Christmas, New Year, and Chinese Lunar New Year holidays, Here are some pointers to current airline deals:

China to Europe:

* SAS airline has a deal for flying to Europe starting at RMB5100 with upgraded economy class fares starting at RMB11000

* British Airways is offering RMB3990 fare from Beijing to London and fares from RMB4990 to many European cities;

* Check out Austrian Airlines - in my experience from this summer travel season, Austrian offered the most competitive prices on flights to Central Europe;

North America - Europe:

* United and Lufthansa are offering special deals (must purchase by October 31, 2006) for flights between

Chicago - Frankfurt — approximately $400 round trip

Chicago - London — approximately $365 round trip

Washington DC - Paris — approximately $580 round trip

San Francisco - Paris — approximately $700 round trip

North America - Hawaii
* United Airlines - purchase by November 8, 2006

Boston to Honolulu — approximately US$440 round trip; New York - Kona: $500

Washington DC to Kona: US$640 round trip; San Francisco - Honolulu: $460

Please keep in mind that it might be cheaper to fly from any of the main US cities or main cities in Asia/Japan to Honolulu and then switch to a local budget airline for the flight from Honolulu to Kona or Maui or Lihue. Local flights can run as low as $94 (round trip) for the Inter-Island flights. Mesa Airlines (linked to America West), Aloha, both offer low cost fares.

Vacation Deals

American Airlines is cutting the prices of the ski package for Vail - the Lodge at Vail, Inn at Keystone and other venues. 5 night stay for two adults plus airline tickets is priced at:

Delta Airlines - discounting up to 20% off for 5 nights or more stays at the Big Sky Resort in Big Sky Montana + one full day skiing at a half day rate; Staying at Aspen Snowmass will get you an extra day of skiing or third night free if you stay 2 nights.
