					<description>In general there might be some issues like that but I have not had much trouble in using VoIP in multiple places around China -- I have stayed in many hotels over the years across China (Chengdu, Shanghai, Shenzhen (Beijing included)....) and have not had trouble.  You may consider getting a Skype out account as well -- very low cost -- and that way you could have two methods for calling home...
I am not aware of a particular site that offers definitive information.

The hotel has internet service but I've been told that the Chinese government blocks Voip. I'm having trouble finding information on that. Do you have any?
