Prescription Glasses (from personal experience — having ordered glasses at these locations):

Panjiayuan Exit of 3rd loop road - stay immediately to the right and you will see a whole arcade of shops dealing with prescription glasses, sun glasses, contact lenses, lense cleaner, etc.

HongQiao Market (near the Temple of Heaven) — you can find some stalls dealing with prescription glasses as well.

WangFuJing Street – in the first floor of the shopping mall across from the International Bookstore

    Places of interest:

    1. The Chengdu Giant Panda Breeding and Research Base: This is probably the most important center for breeding and preservation of giant pandas in China (if not in the world). Here you can observe the pandas sleeping, being fed, as well as the pandas at play. You should plan more than 1/2 day for visiting this site. Best reachable by taxi.
    2. People’s Park: This is an interesting place for people watching. Early in the mornings on weekends you can also observe martial art practices, people learning to dance, singing, etc.
    3. WenShu Temple - one of the largest Buddhist temples in China. Good vegetarian restaurant on the premises
